Become your own guru.

If there’s anything I want to teach my clients, it’s this:

To become their own guru.

And to me, this means:

Moving AWAY from the opinions of others, and OPENING to our own inner guidance, in every aspect of life.

I used to chronically question myself, when it came to ANYTHING. My insecurity and self-doubt, meant that I allowed myself to be dominated by whoever had a stronger and more decisive opinion than me.

And it’s not that these people didn’t want the best for me – far from it. Often, it was that these people wanted to protect me and keep me safe. But, this also stopped me from growing into the person that I authentically am.

It’s been a slow and painful process, to finally own my own opinions, my own compass, my own roadmap.

And, my greatest teachers on this journey (which never ends) have been the ones that encourage me to move out of my comfort zone. The ones that haven’t given me answers, but have encouraged me to come up with my own. The ones that haven’t tried to tell me what to do – but rather, have helped me clear our my energy and my headspace, so that I have the clarity to figure it out for myself.

This is what I want for you.

Personal empowerment is the #1 thing to master if you want to create the health and life that you truly desire.

Being empowered – meaning autonomy, self-determination, and self-ownership – means taking responsibility for EVERY part of your life. For really + truly owning that we create our own experience – and that we have the power to change it, if we wish.

The clients that I have seen truly heal, are the ones that have stepped up and made change in their lives, because they knew that it was up to them, and only them, to be able to transform.

As a result, they’ve flourished. Their self-worth has grown. They have decided that they are worth their own efforts.

They have become their own guru.

Now, this doesn’t mean that you don’t need to ask for help anymore.

I regularly receive help from other people to allow me to move forward with my health, and life.

It’s just that I’m now drawn to people who bring out the best in me, who aren’t afraid to challenge me and shine light on the darker places, who know that healing often means: growth + discomfort.

And oh my, it hurts at times. Like, a lot. Cracking open (physically, emotionally, spiritually).

But I’m always, always, always grateful for the forward movement that these people help me to create in my life.

The thing is, that change is the only thing that is constant, in this life.

We are not meant to remain stagnant. We are not meant to cling to comforts, and all the things we’ve outgrown.

Rather, we’re supposed to constantly move closer and closer to our own truth.

And our own truth, should be our only guru.

So do whatever you need to do, to get to that place.

Move away from the people that make you feel stifled and boxed in, and surround yourself with the people that want you to reach greater heights. Read books. Try different holistic therapies. Go to yoga. Do an online course.

Do empowering things, to become empowered.

From here, you will learn to govern your own world, rather than have it governed by society, the media, or anybody else that wants to keep you where you are.

Give yourself permission to honour that part of you that already knows.

It will take you to amazing places … I promise, promise, promise.

After all, isn’t life too short to ignore becoming the person you know you’re meant to be?

With LOVE,
