Have the courage to follow though.

It requires huge amounts of courage to follow through in life.

Oftentimes, we know exactly what we need to do, but the fear that lies within and around that decision, halts us in our tracks.

At this point, we have two choices:

  1. Stay as we are.
  2. Muster the courage to move through the fear and make the change.

The problem with staying as we are, is that once you KNOW, for sure, that you really need to change something in your life, then your body, mind + soul aren’t going to let you forget it.

Once you’ve come to a conscious awareness that something needs to happen, every part of you will continue to nudge you towards that very circumstance.

On the level of the mind, we may be able to ignore this. Pretend it doesn’t exist. Talk ourselves out of it. Trick ourselves into thinking that everything will be easier, better, if we just remain as we are.

But on every other level, we’ll know about it. Our physical signs and symptoms, our emotions, our intuitive nudges won’t let up. They’re here to guide us, and they’re working in our highest good. When change is needed, they’re going to let us know. And, they’ll be relentless.

So yes, it may be the scariest thing in the world, to follow through on something that you KNOW needs to happen.

To follow through on getting out of the relationship that you’re no longer aligned with.

To follow through on starting the business.

To follow through on saying something that desperately needs to be said.

To follow through on asking for what you need.

To follow through on investing in yourself.

To follow through on getting your symptoms checked.

To follow through on setting those boundaries (and sticking to them).

To follow through on taking the leap of faith.

But, the most difficult choices in life, the ones that take ALL of our courage to actually follow through on, are the ones that propel us to ever-greater levels of contentment, authenticity, fulfilment, and wellbeing.

To feel the fear and do it anyway. To not know what’s going to happen, but to trust that whatever does – is in your highest good. To deeply lean in to your intuition, trusting that your inner guidance won’t let you down.

It will be hard. It will be scary. It will make you feel crazy.

But with each small act of self-love, each small decision that builds your self-worth, each choice that declares the reverence you have for your own short life, it will get easier.

And ultimately, you will realise that the privilege of being alive, means that you simply MUST follow through on all those things. Because there’s not a minute to be wasted.

At the beginning of 2016, I made no resolutions, but I declared that my motto for the year was:

Be Brave.

I vowed to always choose the option, that was most aligned with who I authentically am. With what I TRULY want. Even if it felt scary beyond belief.

So far, it’s serving me well. I’ve had to flex my ‘courage muscle’ over and over and over again, this year. I won’t go back.

Remember, it takes courage to follow through on doing what you feel truly called to do, in your life.

Be brave –
