When the hard times just keep coming.

Beth Bridges

I’m sure you would agree that there are times in life that feel MUCH harder than others.

Sometimes it seems that we are being hit from EVERY angle, and we can feel a little like we’re drowning, within our very own lives.

We can wonder, will it ever get easier?

But the thing to remember during times such as these is – everything transforms eventually.

Truly, everything does.

I write this because in my life at the moment, there are many people – both clients and otherwise – who are going through massive transformation, change, and growth.

And, I can totally relate to how difficult this can feel, because the past couple of years in my own life have been absolutely filled to the brim with similar things.

In the process of changing from a caterpillar to a butterly, there are bound to be growing pains.

Difficult moments.
Tests of courage and strength.

When we are called to move into a new phase of our lives – whether it be in our health and wellness, or our career, or in personal relationships, or something else … it’s scary.

I read a quote yesterday,

‘People have a hard time letting go of their suffering.
Out of fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering, which is familiar’.
~ Thich Nhat Hahn

This is SO true.

Even when we know we desperately need to make change in our lives, we sometimes choose to stay in our suffering – because it’s familiar and comfortable. It feels easier.

We are usually the ones who hold ourselves exactly where we DON’T want to be.

But the path of authenticity and fulfilment was never going to be easy. It was never going to be comfortable.

This path will call on everything you have.

It will ask you to risk safety and comfort, in order to be true to yourself.

It will require you to cultivate faith – in yourself, and in your own magnificent abilities!

If you choose to be brave, dealing with the inevitable discomfort of making change in your life, will be WELL worth it.

What you desire, usually lies on the other side of what you fear.

Fears shows us the way.

And so – if you can relate to this, and if you’re perhaps in some sort of difficult phase of transformation in your own life right now – I encourage you to stick with it.

Stay by your own side.
Keep the faith.
Move through the difficult moments, hours, days, weeks – one at a time.

Because, if your life feels like it’s in chaos – you’re more than likely in training for something magnificent.

If you feel like your body is yelling and screaming at you – it’s asking you to listen, because it wants you to change something about the way you are living your life.

I promise – good things lie on the other side of what you’re going through.

BUT – you have to be willing to really go there, and do the work.

And now, to leave you with one more piece of wisdom from Eckhart Tolle:

‘Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness.
How do you know that this is the experience you need?
Because this is the experience you are having at the moment’.

Trust your life.
Trust the hard times.
They’re trying to help you grow into the person you’re meant to be.

All love –
