Why I'm not interested in being exhausted anymore

I’ve now entered my 30’s – and the one thing I am mega certain about as I move through this new milestone is this:

I’m simply not interested in being exhausted and burnt out anymore.

Can you relate?

Over the years – in this crazy journey that we call life! – I have come to deeply believe that it is an incredible honour, privilege and rare gift to even be alive.

Our days are truly numbered. None of us really know what’s around the corner. To be here, living, breathing, experiencing this world – it’s quite incredible. 

And I don’t know about you, but I really don’t want to waste my precious days.

I made a commitment to myself several years ago to prioritise my health, wellness and soul fulfilment – always. And as I approach my fourth decade … this rings more true than ever for me.

In my life, I have been through many cycles of ‘crash and burn’. I’d do WAY too much (usually in the pursuit of people pleasing) and then end up sick, rundown, and deeply depleted.

Of course, I still dip in and out of this pattern, even now. Old habits die hard – but these days, I’m quickly able to recognise when I’m burning out, and quickly able to nip it in the bud.

Lovely friends … if you feel the same way that I do – like you don’t have time to waste being exhausted anymore – then I encourage you to consider where you need to make change in your life. 

You must discover the ‘why’ underneath your exhaustion, your burnout, your hormonal imbalances.

You must examine the ‘why’ underneath your resistance to getting out of bed each morning.

You must listen to the call of your spirit, which may be trying to tell you that something isn’t right.

There is no magical supplement, pill, or organic vegetable that can compensate for you being:

Disconnected from your soul truth / purpose.
Way too busy.
Over-concerned with everybody’s needs EXCEPT your own.

When you begin to truly realise that your ability to serve others is greatly diminished when YOU are not up to scratch, you will find it easier to prioritise your own health, wellness, needs, dreams and desires.

When you experience the magic of feeling truly well, of living in alignment with what is true for you (which is not necessarily what is true for your best friend or your mum or anyone else), you will understand that by showing up as your brightest self, you actually inspire everyone around you.

In this modern world where opportunity abounds, I believe it’s time to take our power back into our own hands.

We have a freedom of choice that many before us didn’t have. It’s literally our responsibility to make the most of it – to create the health and life that we deeply desire.

I’m not settling for exhaustion anymore. I hope you’re with me on that one.
